Henderson Spirits
Alan Henderson was born in Morgantown, WV and raised in Indianapolis. Alan attended Brebeuf Preparatory School and led them to the 1991 IHSAA
Basketball State Championship game. He then went on to Indiana University where he was named an All-American. Now a member of the IU Hall of Fame,
Alan finished his career at IU as the all-time leading rebounder and shot
blocker. He graduated with a B.S. in Biology and was accepted to IU medical school in 1995. After being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 16th pick in the first round of the 1995 NBA Draft, he played for 12 seasons. Nine
seasons for the Hawks, followed by one year each for the Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers. He was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 1998.
During his NBA career, he earned a Masters degree from the IU Kelley School of Business in 2010. He launched Henderson Spirits Group in the Spring of
2020. With a mission to “Diversify the Bar”, he is creating super premium spirits brands based on real African Americans in Spirits History. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and the professional fraternity Sigma Pi Phi. His Henderson Foundation supports causes related to the lower income population, children, and abused women. Alan loves spending time with his wife, Maxine, and their four kids - Jacob, Joshua, Brooke and Jonah.
