Wayne E. Chaplin serves as Chief Executive Officer of Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, the world’s pre-eminent distributor of beverage alcohol and a multi-generational, family-owned company.
Mr. Chaplin was named to this role in January 2016, upon the announcement of the combination of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. and Glazer’s, Inc. Prior to the combination, Mr. Chaplin served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, a position he was promoted to in May 2014. He originally joined Southern in 1984 and worked in various roles of increasing responsibility.
Mr. Chaplin is also involved in various board service roles and philanthropic activities, including long-time support of the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University, named after the Chaplin family. He also serves on the University of Miami Board of Trustees.
